A SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Painting as reconnection.
A Sunday Afternoon
24” x 36”, oil on canvas
This painting began with a deep yearning for reconnection, with myself and the culture that raised me as a child. I’m inspired by Indian miniature paintings (pahari paintings), and for this piece I used elements from these paintings to create them as oil paintings. Creating the subjects of flowers, parrots, women and architectural elements in the way of my practice.
